SSB Raclette 2019 - SOLD OUT
Success was anticipated ahead of the event as the Raclette party was fully booked and there even was a waiting list for this evening. Thanks to some «no shows», a few additional guests had the opportunity to join, and the SSB President could welcome 136 guests in the beautiful garden of the Swiss Embassy in Bangkok.
The highlight was our new Ambassador, Mrs. Helene Budliger Artieda, with her first words to the Swiss Society Bangkok. Her charming speech attracted the attention of the audience. At this point we seize the opportunity to thank the Embassy for the sponsored Swiss wine for the aperitif. It was interesting to learn that Bangkok was the most favorite vacancy for ambassadors in the year 2019. Due to her engaged and outstanding commitment during her previous assignment in South Africa and before as Resource Director within the EDA, Mrs. Helene Budliger Artieda was appointed as the Swiss Ambassador in Bangkok.
Gourmet Primo was taking care of the catering under the lead of Luca Sigg (Brasserie 9) and *supervised* by Linus AE Knobel (CEO Bangkok Air Catering). A crew of 29 employees, thereof 9 chefs with 7 different nationalities from 4 branches of the BAC group were responsible for a perfect service and, as usual, excellent quality of food. The exquisite starter, a Swiss gourmet platter, was served at the table. Then the guests had the opportunity to chat with old friends and new faces while waiting in the short lines at the 7 raclette stations.
A sound system, a computer, and a coffee machine caused some excitement: this was just too much for one socket and its fuse! However, this problem was solved rapidly by the technicians of the embassy.
We all enjoyed the pleasant evening that ended with a delicious fruit salad (of course with some Kirsch) and delicious ice cream.
